Sidney Brown
Sidney brings over three decades of wildland firefighting and operational leadership experience to Coastal Air Strike. Born and raised in South Florida, he began his career with the Florida Forest Service in 1982 as a Wildland Firefighter in Hendry County. Over a 35-year career, he operated heavy equipment and engines in support of wildfire suppression and land management operations, holding positions of Senior Ranger, Strike Team/Task Force Leader, and Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) Manager. Following his retirement from the Florida Forest Service in 2016, he continued supporting SEAT operations through 2020, further strengthening his expertise in aviation-ground integration.
Sidney joined Coastal Air Strike in 2021. In his current role, he oversees the Fuel Service Vehicle (FSV) and SEAT Support Vehicle (SSV) program, including maintenance, readiness, and operational deployment. He is also responsible for training, evaluating, and supervising all FSV/SSV drivers, ensuring consistent, safe, and efficient ground support operations.
Sidney’s extensive background in both ground and aviation firefighting operations provides a critical link between air and ground resources. His leadership ensures that Coastal Air Strike’s support operations are reliable, well-coordinated, and fully aligned with the demands of active fire environments, directly contributing to overall mission success.
